GEN Zoomer journey into entrepreneurship as a post graduate alumni at Bowie State University. By: Mardline Prevot  Sponsorship: Venture 4 Them - Entrepreneurship Innovation Centre 🎓 From Bowie State Bulldog to DC Digital Strategist: Wrapping Up My Final Semester and Leaping into Entrepreneurship! What a ride! I'm officially wrapping up my final, final semester at Bowie State University, and honestly, the feeling is pure, unadulterated triumph—the kind that comes with a side of comedic relief. I will graduate, God willing, and I've poured every ounce of my effort into making that a huge priority. But while the books were closing, a new chapter was swinging wide open: entrepreneurship. The Bulldog Hustle: From Student to Designer My journey as an entrepreneur has been building quietly in the background, but now it’s time to bring it to the forefront. I'm thrilled to share that I'm officially collaborating with an amazing mentor and friend from BSU, Coach Fleming, as he...

🏀 Never Forgetting the Internship That Touched My Heart: BSU Athletics Department - Fall 2025 by: Mardline Prevot As the Fall 2025 academic semester wraps up, I find myself getting a little emotional. It’s the kind of emotion that swells up when you realize you’re closing a chapter that’s been truly meaningful. My internship with the BSU Athletics Department has been more than just a line on a resume; it's been a profound and sometimes hilariously memorable experience that truly touched my heart. I’ve always been a hobbyist in making slight, but remarkable, comedic gestures—and that sense of playful creativity found a wonderful home here. The Bonds That Will Last 💖 I know I’m going to miss the bond I’ve built, especially with my supervisor. As the Graphic Design Intern, I recently had the joy of giving away some Adobe swag to celebrate the hard work of my peers. It felt good to reward them for playing along with what I’ve been learning and creating. Wait, I’m getting off track ag...

The Week of Royal Blue and Gold: Cap, Confessions, and Coronation by: Mardline Prevot Via Grant Funding to the Key to the Krok.  Monday, October 27, 2025 started with a tangible step toward the future: I officially purchased my cap and gown. The reality of graduation is setting in. Later that evening, the Bowie State Talent Show kicked off, starting with a lively Halloween-themed opener hosted by the BMI Organization (Image 1). The air was electric, but before the main event, I took a leap of faith. It was a moment of intense nervous confidence—a boldness I attribute to the color of my flag—that prompted me to confess my feelings to my crush. A significant personal moment before the campus spotlight truly hit.  The talent show began with a diverse lineup. We saw "Spin thin" and heard a peer sing a song that made the 'born in the 2000s' audience cheer. The first runners, my "dogs" Big Nick and Big Lechi, put on a great performance. The second runner, Thomas, ...

The Kappa Transition: DJ Spin's BSU Got Talent Set By: Mardline Prevot Via Bowie State Cab 📦 Part 1: The Great Giveaway Pickup 🏃‍♀️ The crisp, late-October air at Bowie State University buzzed with anticipation—not just the usual campus energy, but a palpable excitement for the upcoming coronation. I was technically on the clock for my Intramurals and Recreation, 1914 Edition internship, but today felt more like a covert holiday mission. My assignment: pick up about 15 package giveaways destined for various campus organizations and departments within Athletics. This was our way of giving back—a thank-you from the department, and for me, a little extra spoiling session. Why the extra spoiling? Well, it was all tied up with my track and field friend and crush. The coronation was coming up, and I knew the women, who already dress impeccably, were going to look absolutely fine . Being nonbinary and heading toward that event later made me want to spread some good cheer and energy, so ...

The Niro EV Vibe Check by: Mardline Prevot Shout out to the Black women drivers setting the tone—the speakers are blasting Rihanna’s “Needed Me,” so we’re instantly on that Caribbean energy. And yeah, the car straight-up smells like cocoa butter in here. It’s a whole mood. My one immediate critique is that main display screen: it’s totally giving Microsoft wallpaper from 2007. It just is. We pulled up at 3:13 on the dot. I watched the driver hit the gas with a powerful push, almost like a scene with Swattie from Claws (though, full disclosure, I’ve never actually watched the show). Then, the music shifted. "Gloria" came on, triggering the deep, existential thoughts: How do men leave the mothers of their children? That was quickly followed by “Don’t Deserve” and a track by Sia. The internal mood is definitely shifting! Side Note: The crickets are surprisingly loud, even in the middle of the day. Via Kia of Bowie  Part 2: The Time Warp & The Hamster Car The thought proces...
