🎓 From Bowie State Bulldog to DC Digital Strategist: Wrapping Up My Final Semester and Leaping into Entrepreneurship!

What a ride! I'm officially wrapping up my final, final semester at Bowie State University, and honestly, the feeling is pure, unadulterated triumph—the kind that comes with a side of comedic relief. I will graduate, God willing, and I've poured every ounce of my effort into making that a huge priority. But while the books were closing, a new chapter was swinging wide open: entrepreneurship.


The Bulldog Hustle: From Student to Designer

My journey as an entrepreneur has been building quietly in the background, but now it’s time to bring it to the forefront. I'm thrilled to share that I'm officially collaborating with an amazing mentor and friend from BSU, Coach Fleming, as her graphic designer for the Intramural and Fitness at BSU Athletics.

This collaboration is more than just a job; it's a perfect blend of my graphic design skills and my commitment to the BSU community. Working with Coach Fleming (Assistant Athletic Director for Intramurals and Recreation, according to my research!) has been a fantastic way to keep a foot in the door at the place that helped shape me, transforming our supervisor-friend relationship into a professional partnership.

🏆 Honored, Humbled, and Harnessing Digital Strategy

You know that feeling when the grind pays off? I’ve been riding that wave since learning about being a 30 under 30 Honoree in the Arts, Media, and Culture category. My focus? Digital strategy right in the heart of Google's ecosystem.

This recognition feels like a comedic energy of gratitude—a way to wink at the universe and say, "See? All those late nights and 'God willingly' graduation prayers actually worked!" It’s a huge motivator, reinforcing my commitment to leveraging my skills to make a real impact in the digital space.

A New Home for Haitian Art in Bowie by: Mardline Prevot  Via Mazopal Design ( Haitian Community: The Vintage View) The words sting, even when they're not directed at me. In my courses, when Haiti comes up, it's a predictable script: poverty, political instability, a place to avoid. A casual dismissal of a country so rich in history and resilience. It's a narrative that paints my home as a lost cause, a cautionary tale. And for a long time, I just listened, the words sinking in. But then I realized something. They're not completely wrong. Haiti has faced incredible challenges. But that's not the whole story, and it's certainly not the only story. What's missing from their textbooks is the vibrant, powerful history that makes Haiti what it is today. They don't talk about the incredible strength and ingenuity of a country that, after 1804, became the first free Black republic. Bowie State University - McKeldin Gym Edition: The Graphic Designer for the I Am BSU Bless You by: Mardline Prevot  Courtesy: Bowie State University Okay, y'all, so boom! Let's talk about this flyer for the BSU intramural basketball league. First off, can we just acknowledge the graphic designer? Like, they understood the assignment. This ain't your grandma's boring event poster. This is a whole vibe, a whole mood, a whole experience. The yellow and black color scheme? Poppin'. The distressed texture? Immaculate. The sihouette of the player with the basketball? Iconic. And the HOOF DREAMS CALLING?  Pure genius. This flyer is loud, its bold, and its definitely gonna catch your eye when you're scrolling through your Insta feed.
