A place of dreams, memories, and for me, a reunion with family and a step into the future of my career. As a Haitian-American, my connection to this city is deeply rooted. My guardian, a strong and resilient woman who came from Pétionville, Haiti, made sure I knew my family there. I remember countless visits as a child and into my early 20s, seeing my aunts and cousins, and even celebrating my little cousin's communion—a memory that now feels like a warm hug from the past.
