It's time to release the torch of fakeness and step firmly into the reality of life. This week, that meant taking midterms for the absolute last time—a moment that, for some, felt like a uniquely demanding, "ghetto way of showing black excellence." But that intense push is about more than just a grade; it's revealing the very defense of a provoked dream, securing a future that's been hard-won. Yet, even in this serious academic period, a moment of odd nostalgia flashed through my mind: I was reminded of how the refreshingly recycled bottle of 1948 shared the hearts of millions of Americans back in 2004 with Taco Bell's original creation of the tropical lime flavor, a Baja Blast illustration of lime-out-with-Dew. As I move forward, though, my focus stays sharp, much like the commitment of MD in Maryland or the character of Stereo Tau in a demanding course—first impressions may be everything, but I'm sticking with my associates who truly are the real MVPs.

The brief calm before the midterm storm officially ended on October 10th, drawing a close to Week 7 and a much-needed visit from my sorority sister. Seeing my friend—my twin—on my angel number, 10/10, felt incredibly sacred and perfectly timed, as it had been far too long since we’d connected. Her membership in Chi Eta Phi Sorority always brings my family to mind. A relative of mine once mentioned the organization, but I’ve been meaning to look more closely into their impact on the medical field. Given that so many of my loved ones are nurses, I want to take a moment to say a heartfelt "thank you for your service" to all those who dedicate their lives to care.
