Cyber Torch: A tale of Crashout Internet

Marry the problem.

The final countdown is on! Soon, I'll be stepping into a new chapter, one that includes both my marriage and graduating from Bowie State University with a Bachelor's of Science as a first-generation college student. This post is a love letter to the freshman Mardi, who, once nervous about changing the world, is now actually doing it.

It feels like a difficult time right now, graduating during a Republican administration—the last one was in 2017 when I was in middle school. Things aren't the same as they used to be, at least I thought so, but change is huge, and yet, I'm still Mardline then, and still Mardi now.

Whenever I yearn for the past knowledge of being educated at The Bridges Academy, being here at Bowie State University only opens up those memories. It made me realize I’m not new to the education system at all; it’s only when I make it about DC. From my experience growing up in DC, no kidding, as a Haitian, I learned English and Haitian Creole privately. Problem-solving was a main factor I was able to do, along with always doing art.

I never realized until being here at Bowie that I was always meant to shine. The only difference, well, is don't fall into a fling or a long-distance fling.
