Hey everyone! It’s week three of the semester, and I've been grinding behind the scenes, getting my portfolio together and doing some serious eye imaging exercises for my advertising design class. One thing that's been on my mind is the feedback I got from my professor about my mock-up interview. She said I should really look into the Haitian music industry for my design calendar instead of focusing on the political origins of the country. It was a good reality check. It made me realize that even though I've spent years honing my skills in Adobe Illustrator and Express, I still have so much to learn about targeting specific markets and making my work relevant. I've been building a relationship with Adobe Animate, which has not been easy, but I'm determined to master it. I've also been exploring other tools to make sure my branding visualizations stand out, especially when it comes to the differences between marketing and social media.
This semester is all about getting ready for graduation and applying everything I’ve learned. I’m good on attending interest meetings, I’m just focused on working on my craft. I've seen firsthand how crucial it is to get things right the first time because in the design world, there's no making up for a messed-up chance. My internship with BSU Intramurals and Fitness has been a huge part of my growth. I even developed a character named Stereo Tau, a smooth creative collaborator based in Queens, NY, who specializes in songwriting and working with Haitian creators on her business venture, Mazopal Design. My latest project is designing a women’s basketball league to get college students active on campus. It's a great opportunity to apply my skills and build my portfolio, all while making a positive impact. It's an exciting journey, and I'm ready for the challenge.
